My Birthday at Disneyland | January 2018 ♡

When we booked to go to Paris over New Year, I knew exactley what it was I wanted to do for my Birthday on New Years Day... Disneyland!! My whole life I have been a huge Disney fan and I really wanted to take Bruce to the park to show him just how magical it is!
We got up so early on the 1st and had a 40 minute train journey out to Disneyland. We arrived just after it opened and were literally buzzing as we walked up towards the park. Once we were in, walking up the Main Street towards the castle was one of the best feelings Ive ever had. I was literally the happiest person in the world at that point and was trying to not get too emotional. The castle was stunning and it was still quiet when we arrived so we got to just stand and take it all in. I couldnt quite believe we were there. The first thing I did was purchase some Minnie Ears. Its a necessity when you go to Disneyland, I got the gorgeous purple ones celebrating Disneyland 25.

We decided to stay in Fantasyland to start and move around throughout the day. We did the Carousel first, then the Mad Hatters Teacups, The Voyage of Pinocchio and whilst it had no queue we did Peter Pans Flight which was awesome. A wee flashback to when I was 5, I went to Disneyland with my mum & dad and dragged them several times a day on the Its a Small World Ride. I had forgotten this until we were wandering and I heard the music playing, all these memories came flooding back. The ride hasnt changed a bit and I felt 5 years old again. We walked round to Discovery World which had one of my favourite rides of the day; Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain and did that twice in a row. What a ride it is, my inner Star Wars geek really came out at the parks.

After a wee pit stop for coffee and a serious amount of pastries we headed over to Frontierland which was Bruces highlight of the day. This land is all Wild West themed and you really feel like your walking about in an old cowboy movie, complete with Saloon Bars. This is where Big Thunder Mountain is quality, I was actually a bit scared but its such an awesome roller coaster. We did some of the shooting galleries and had a really nice time wandering through this land.
Adventureland is next door to Frontierland and this is where we found the hidden gem of the day. Whilst having a wee look about we stumbled across Indiana Jones Temple of Peril which we didnt realise was a rollercoaster. It had a waiting time of 5 minutes so we just wandered in. Turns out this was our favourite ride of the day. We rode it four more times as we loved it so much and there was no queue at any point of the day. I highly recommend this one if you visit the park.

We had a One Day - Two Park ticket so after we had been round once we went over to Walt Disney Studios Park. Here is where the amazing Rockin Rollercoaster is and thats what we headed straight for.  I have done it whilst in Florida years ago and was so excited to take Bruce on it. We did it twice in a row as there was no queue. The heavens had absolutley opened by this point and we were soaked to the skin but it didnt stop us! We then had some lunch which was so tasty, I got a veggie burger and mickey mouse cakes which is the lunch of champs! After lunch, which probably wasn't the best plan, we did the Tower of Terror which is one of the scariest ones in my opinion but such a thrill ride! We didn't stay in this park for very long as we wanted to get back to the other park for the Parade.

The Parade was magical. We got a position right infront of the castle and I smiled from ear to ear throughout the whole thing. All the princesses, the classic characters, the pixar favourites they were all there and I havnt stopped humming the parade song since. When we knew the parade was coming to an end we made a mad dash to Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain as we knew it would be quieter during the parade. We rode it twice more! I absolutley love that ride. We then went on the Star Wars; The Adventure Continues simulator ride which I enjoyed so much, It felt like we were right in the middle of all the action.

By late afternoon we decided to get a fast pass for Buzz Lightyear and whilst waiting, go round and do any of the rides we wanted to again. We were desperate to do Thunder Mountain but the queue was 50 minutes all evening. We did Indiana Jones a couple of more times in a row, still my favourite, and Star Wars again for good luck. It was at this point that we stumbleld upon the Haunted Mansion and went on it, its super cool, really spooky and I remember it from my childhood so well. What a view you get when your queuing for this ride, you can see the whole of the park. Then we used our fast passes on Buzz Lightyear but it kept breaking down. I really hope to go back one day to do it again properly.

To finish off the day we had some dinner at Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost. It was so good, we each got a pizza, some garlic bread and an ice cream. Also enjoyed a beer with our meal which was very much needed. I really wanted to take home something from Disneyland Paris so we popped into the Emporium on Main Street before the closing fireworks. Marie is my favourite character so I picked up a cuddly toy of her, a pin badge to add to my old collection and a couple of lovely postcards.

The closing fireworks show were the best way I could ever have finished off my birthday. The castle was lit up with projections of disney films and music from them all including The Lion King, Frozen, The Little Mermaid which played through the park. They even made it snow and the Fireworks were absolutely breathtaking. I kept thinking to myself that Im in the most magical place on earth, on my birthday, with my favourite person in the world, how can anyone get so lucky?!

Thank you Disneyland Paris for the most wonderful Birthday ever. I really cant wait to return and Im already planning when. If your thinking about going to Disneyland Paris or any of the Disney Parks around the world, just do it. You will have no regrets and will have the time of your life.

Thank you for reading,

New Year in Paris | January 2018 ♡

Hello lovelies. I was lucky enough to get away on a trip to Paris for New Year and my Birthday. It was the most wonderful holiday I have ever been on, I really did not want to come home.
We flew from Aberdeen to Charles De Gaulle (which is an epic airport) and mastered the subway quicker than we thought, this is how we got around everywhere. We stayed at the St George Astotel which I would highly recommend, we had a perfect little room with a big window to look out of and open. It was so cosy and the staff there were so nice and really helpful.
On our first day in Paris we started by seeing the Notre Dame which is an absolutely breathtaking place. We didn't go inside but stood for such a long time taking it all in and looking at all the statues and the amazing detail on the building itself. The place is just, wow, one of my highlights of the holiday for both of us.

That same day we went over to the Eiffel Tower which had a wee Christmas Market next to it. We spent hours there, drinking mulled wine and watching the ice skaters. We then walked to the Trocadero which is where you get a wonderful view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. We also managed to squeeze in the Arc De Triomphe and a walk down the Champs-Elysees which topped off our first day. We had a nice dinner in a restuarant called B9 where we sampled plenty of red wine!

Our second day took us on a long wander, taking in everything we could about Paris. We had some drinks in a couple of bars, shopped in a couple of places for birthday bits and souvenirs. We had dinner in an awesome place where we both polished of a decent amount of cheese and wine (which we did most nights)! We then took a walk up to the Moulin Rouge as it was just round the corner from our hotel, so wish there had been a show on. We headed back to our hotel that night and cozied up with a bottle of red and watched the film Moulin Rouge.

On New Years Eve we took the subway to Place De La Concorde. This is right in-between the Louvre and the Champs-Elysees. We went up on the Big Wheel and got an insane view of Paris and decided that we wanted to come back there to take in the New Year. After being up the wheel we walked through the big gardens and up to the Louvre. I loved walking through the gardens, a place that busy shouldn't feel as peaceful and calm as it does. Took us a good two hours of just wandering. We then had a drink in a wee cafe before getting the subway to Bastille for dinner.
After a nap we headed out later on at night to the Champs-Elysees with two miniature bottles of wine in hand, We took in the bells looking up towards the Arc De Triumph where they set off beautiful fireworks and a stunning display on the arc itself. We also had a view of the Eiffel Tower which sparkled an shone into the New Year. It was an emotional night but I was the happiest girl in the world, what a dream it was.

On our last day, my Birthday, we went to Disneyland Paris which was an absolute dream. Im going to share all about it in my next blog post so keep your eyes peeled.  I shall leave it there today. We had such an amazing time in Paris and I really hope we can go back there at some point, to explore some more and spend time in the different places we loved.

Thank you so much for reading, hope your all having a lovely day.

Happy New Year | January 2018 ♡

Hello my lovelies and a very Happy New Year to you all.  I hope you had a fantastic festive period full of all the things you love. 2017 for me was a pretty good year. Much of my time in 2017 was spent experiencing some awesome times with my boyfriend and getting our lives back on track after 2016 being quite a hard year for the both of us.

We spent time away together in Dublin, Paris, Edinburgh and a weekend away in a caravan which was one of the most fun experiences ever, it was so chilled out! I really want to do some more travelling in 2018 and hope that we can pack our summer out with lots of trips.

Loads of gigs in 2017, one of the most epic being Guns n Roses in Dublin. What a mind blowing experience that was. I got to relive my childhood a bit this year by seeing Busted and of course, my favourites STEPS! Both those shows made me so happy, the smile did not leave my face for days!
Hunter and the Bear were a particular highlight, they were unbelievable live.

A girls trip away to see Shawn Mendes was great fun and I got to see my favourites Take That for the fifth time. I managed to talk Bruce into coming with me for that one and he actually loved it! I saw the Queen that is Amy MacDonald twice, she was absolutely incredible live and Im excited to see her again this year. We also saw Lucy Spraggan twice too who I would highly recommend going to see. I not only got to see Newton Faulkner live but got to meet the man himself, what an awesome and lovely human being he is! I even got the chance to see Robbie Williams who put on an epic show, and Olly Murs who I have seen live so many times and once again had an amazing time.

We went to three weddings, all of which were super magical and we had so much fun with friends and family. I felt like a princess in all the dresses I got to wear, I love an excuse to get all dressed up. We have two this coming year and I cannot wait!
The shinty season was an epic one! Our boys team came fourth in their league, an amazing effort considering there was almost no team at the beginning of the year. The girls team came second in their league, very proud of all the girlies hard work and cant wait to join in some more this year.

We got a new nephew in 2017, he's such a cutie and I cant wait to hopefully spend some more time with him this year. Also our other nephew is walking and soooo close to talking so this year is going to be amazing with him. We also got to spend a lot of time with our friends this year, having them around more and spending proper quality time with them. We even went on a trip with the a lovely bunch of friends which was one of the best weekends of my whole year. Love having them in my life.

Finally, in the run up to Christmas I had the opportunity to be in a Panto and I had the most amazing time being a part of it. I played a pirate, got to sing my heart out every night and be around a pretty awesome bunch of people. I felt like a pop star when I got to perform and its given me such a bug for singing again.

The year finished on a high for me as I spent it with my best friend and love in Paris to take in the New Year and celebrate my birthday. What a city, what a place. I could have easily spent so much more time there. Keep your eyes peeled for lots of blog posts about the trip! It was the most wonderful holiday I think I've ever had.

So there you have it, I will have missed loads but I could go on all day. All in all 2017, was a pretty awesome one for me despite a few downs. Im so ready for 2018. The plans I have in my head about my future and the next few months I cant wait to make reality. We already have lots of events and gigs to look forward to and Im sure it will build up over the year.

Thank you for reading my little blog in 2017, the support I have received has been wonderful and I hope to continue this year making interesting and exciting content for you to read and making my blog bigger and better. A very Happy New Year, heres to a good one!!
