The Brit Awards | 2015

What a show, I don't watch many award shows but I always tune in for the Brits. Usually by the third or fourth award Im raging and don't agree with any of the winners but this year, I can honestly say I loved 100% of the choices. The fact that not only artists like Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift got awards which I'm so chuffed at, but the likes of The Foo Fighters, Paloma Faith and Royal Blood were given awards too.

Global Success Award - Sam Smith
Best British Group - Royal Blood
Best International Group - The Foo Fighters
Best British Male Solo Artist - Ed Sheeran
Best British Female Solo Artist - Paloma Faith
Best International Male Artist - Pharrell Williams
Best International Female Solo Artist - Taylor Swift
Best British Single - Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars
British Breakthrough Act - Sam Smith
Best British Video - One Direction
Best Album - Ed Sheeran

Firstly, the live performances. Im going to start by talking about how absolutely amazing Paloma Faith was. I think Paloma is so underrated as an artist, she has such a beautiful unique voice and she herself is just so quirky and lovely. Her live performance of my favourite song of hers 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' was just stunning and showed what she really can do as an artist. Well done Paloma, so well deserved to win Best Female Solo Artist.

The incredible Taylor Swift opened the show, what better way could they ever have opened it to be honest! One of my aims in life is to see Taylor live, I love watching her on stage. She has such a huge personality and just makes me smile whenever I see her on perform. She belted out her latest hit Blank Space and smashed it. I loved the whole monochrome theme going on with her and her dancers. Taylor's outfit was  a tuxedo type jacket and shorts, she looked sexy yet so sophisticated. When she strutted her stuff down the runway she pretty much stole the show. The dancers were amazing, doing mimes and little magic tricks. Her voice has become so strong when performing live, Blank Space is a really difficult song to sing and I thought she did so well.

Ed Sheerans performance was incredible. For being up there on stage by himself, building up to such an epic sound, he blows my mind every time I see him perform. I saw him about two years ago and would love to see him again if I can. His voice live is in my opinion so much better than on his albums. He just has a way of completely captivating his audiences, drawing them in as if nothing else is happening around them. He performed Bloodstream from his Brit Award winning album X and was so amazing.

Take That! Oh my goodness, were they not just so good! Ive seen Take That three times and I will se them for the forth in April. They are wonderful live, the shows they put on are just so colourful, bright and the music is just amazing. I respect Take That for carrying on after another member left last year and making it work with just the three of them. Their performance was just so awesome, all of them on instruments and doing what they do best.

George Ezra is fairly new on the scene. He never won an award this year but he did perform and was fabulous! His voice is so different and you just get drawn in by it. He looked so nervous up there on that stage, I remember when Ellie Goulding took to the stage at the Brit Awards back when she was a newcomer and he looked exactly the same. It must be so daunting to be starting out in the business and landing that gig! Good on George though, I thought he did fantastic!

Sam Smith, what a voice that guy has! He performed with a huge orchestra and really did just blow the audience away. He's become a household name around the work this year after winning four Grammys, he is doing so incredibly well! I don't have his album, and I never intended on buying it but its on my list of to get albums now. 'Like You Can' is so catchy and its been in my head ever since Wednesday night.

As for Kanye West, I thought he was awful... Sorry, there was no need for that performance.

Poor Madonna. What an embarrassing thing to happen for a big comeback. Good on the woman though, she got up and powered through the rest of the performance. Im not a Madge fan but I really respect her for soldiering on. The performance was actually pretty good once she was back on her feet again although I was a bit weirded out by the dancers, I also didn't think her vocals were very good, but hey ho, Im pretty sure if she hadn't fallen it would have been a completely different performance.

I'm so glad the likes of The Foo Fighters and Royal Blood got awards. It's awesome that bands that are not just 'Pop' getting all the awards which has been happening in previous years. I mean I absolutely love the likes of One Direction, but they can't win everything. There is so much music out there that is so underapreciated and I just love when things are shaken up a bit.

Overall his year I really enjoyed the Brit Awards. We'll done to all the winners, everyone really deserved what they got and all the artists that performed were fantastic...almost everyone! Thank you so much for reading!

Everyday Makeup Routine

Good Morning lovely people. Im not one for fancy makeup in everyday life, I usually only spend five to ten minutes doing my face in the morning. Heres an easy makeup look that you can wear wherever when you don't need to go to great effort.

Firstly I apply my foundation, at the moment I'm loving Rimmels BB Cream for everyday use. I apply this using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush which is great for building up coverage. I then put Rimmels Wake Me Up Concealor under my eyes and on any problem areas and apply it also with the same buffing brush. On top of them to set my foundation and concealer I finish with L'Oreal True Match Powder

I then usually move on to do my eyes. I don't bother with eyeshadow very much, I don't think I suit eyeshadow so tend to not wear it at all. However I love to wear eyeliner, as most of us ladies do! Today I chose to use Soap & Glory's SuperCat Fat and drew a line across my eyelid to define my eyes a bit more, I only added a tiny flick to the end, I didn't go for a full blown cat eye but of course you can if you want to, some of you ladies rock the cat eye flick!

I then move onto my cheeks. Im not using bronzer with this look so I go straight to my blusher. For everyday use I use my Soap & Glory Love at First Blush palette. I use the three lovely pink shades on my cheeks applied using my Real Techniques Contour brush and then using my ring finger I add a bit of highlighter which is the white shade in the palette to the tops of my cheeks.

Finally I put on some lippie! For this look I used a TopShop Lipstick in the shade Saint which is my absolute go to in the TopShop range. I sometimes put a gloss over the top but decided to leave it as it was today.

And thats it! Easy Peasy, and so quick for doing before you go out the door in the morning.

Hope you enjoyed my first attempt at a makeup tutorial look. Thank you for reading, hope you all have a lovely day!
