Gran Canaria | July 2016 ♡

Myself, Bruce and my Dad had a wee break away last week to the beautiful Gran Canaria for four incredible days. Ive been so excited about this holiday for months now and it was so good to finally be out there, soaking up the heat and drinking as many cocktails as I could everyday!

We stayed in the Hotel Neptuno which is an adults only hotel in Playa del Ingles. A stunning and friendly hotel that gave us champagne on arrival! Never felt so special in all me life. The pool and poolside facilities were fantastic and I sat for four days and soaked in as much sun as I could drinking Pina Coladas and Sangria. We had a fab room overlooking the hotel pool which was so good for people watching.

I thought I would share with you guys just a few photos from the holiday.
Doing this post has given me such holiday blues but we did have the most wonderful time. Take me back!

Hope your all having a lovely summer,
Amy x

Enjoy The Little Things | July 2016 ♡

For what seems like most of this year, I haven't had a quiet weekend in. 2016 has been full of adventures, weddings and concerts. We have been so busy!

So this weekend, whilst everyone was away,  myself and Bruce spent the weekend just chilling out with his mam. On Sunday we got up early and made Pancakes from Tanya Burrs new book, Tanya Bakes, and they were soooo tasty! I think I outdid myself in the kitchen I must say. Check out my last post on it here.

During the afternoon we watched Andy Murray, our fellow scot and absolute hero, fight to win Wimbledon 2016 which of course, he did. It was a fantastic match but I'm so gutted Wimbledon is now over, its one of my favourite times of the year. Well Done Andy, Scotland's so proud of you. Whilst watching him we treated ourselves to a glass of bubbly with some strawberries. Yum!

In the evening we made a big bowl of Nachos with the whole works and munched on this whilst watching the Euro Finals. Wasn't quite as exciting as Wimbledon but was still fun to watch. We finished the night by binge watching Big Bang Theory and having some great laughs.

This weekend has reminded me of how much I enjoy a quiet weekend with the people I love most. It makes me appreciate the little things in life that you can sometimes take for granted. These past few months of my life have been very different and adjusting to life has been quite tricky. This weekend has made me totally chill out and put me into a much more positive head space.

Take time to enjoy the little things in life. Cliche but so true.

Hope you have a lovely day,

Amy x

Cheers!

Tanya Bakes | July 2016 ♡

So earlier this month Tanya Burr brought out her second book. Im sooooo happy she's brought out a baking book. In her first book, Love Tanya, she had a few recipes that Ive so enjoyed making and now I cant wait to get torn into some brand new ones. I was lucky enough to grab a signed copy of the book so thank you so much Tanya.

The book is beautiful and has loads of recipes inside for you to enjoy. There are sections on Cookies & Biscuits, Bread, Cakes, Pastry, Puddings and so much more. Also, Tanya looks absolutely stunning throughout the book.

This morning myself and Bruce decided to try making some of the Pancakes and had great success! No disasters which was a surprise :)
We topped our pancakes with sugar, syrup and strawberries and they were fantastic!!

Thank you for another fabulous book Tanya, cant wait to get baking!

Let me know if you picked up Tanya Bakes and if you have tried anything out yet! My next experiment is the Pop Tarts!

Bruce Springsteen, The River Tour | June 2016

Bruce Springsteen is my idol. I admire him as a person, I adore his music, I cant get over his beautiful lyrics and seeing him live again made me love him even more.
Bruce toured in 2013 with The Wrecking Ball Tour which was when I first saw him live. He blew my mind! What a performer. So when I saw he was coming back to Scotland this year I was up at the crack of dawn when tickets went on sale and managed to grab myself two.

Bruce came to Glasgow Hampden Park on the 1st of June and absolutely smashed it!
He came onstage at about 6.45 and didn't go off until 10.15pm. No breaks or anything, he played continuously and was simply amazing from start to finish. This tour is for one of his older albums called The River, released originally in 1980. I think if you bought this album as a Bruce Springsteen newbie, you would know a lot of the songs. Its got some of his best on it in my opinion.

He sang the album from start to finish and then finished the night with a couple of his best known hits such as Glory Days, Born in the USA and my absolute all time favourite Dancing In The Dark. Hearing Dancing in the Dark live is just the best thing to me. Love love LOVE IT!!!

If you ever have the opportunity to see The Boss live I would suggest you do not miss out. He is simply wonderful and will give you a show that you will never forget.

Please come back to Scotland soon Bruce!!
