Bring it on 2017 | January 2017 ♡

Well, what a year it 2016 was. How are we on the 14th of January already! I apologies this post is late, my laptop has decided to break down and I'm currently trying to get it all fixed and ready to go. Anyways, coming out of 2015 I wasn't quite sure how what life has in store for me. I lost one of the most important people in my life and I was unsure of how I was going to find myself coping with everything. However, I have surprised myself.

2016 has been very busy and like I promised myself at the beginning of the year, I have kept myself going at all times. Pretty much every weekend has been full of making memories and living life to the full with concerts, holidays, parties and spontaneous road trips.

I miss my mum every single day and unlike people say, it dosent get any easier. I pride myself in making sure everything I do, even the little things, will make her proud and I think I forever will. She's a huge part of my life that is now missing but I honestly think that i have coped and dealt with it really well. Lets hope it stays this way.

Our little nephew came into the world in April. He is the most perfect little pudding I have ever had the joy of knowing. He makes me so happy and proud and I cant wait to watch him grow up and I can experience all the joys of being an Auntie. This year he turns one and Im going to spoil him rotten...and for the rest of his life!

I have seen sooooo many live concerts and shows this year including:
Bruce Springsteen
Elton John
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Lucy Spraggan
Ward Thomas
Newton Faulkner
McFly
Busted
Runrig
The View
Gary Tank Commander Live

Seeing both Ellie & The Boss in the same year is partly why this year has been so fantastic. Seen my two absolute favourites and they were both fantastic. Also Belladrum Festival was once again amazing fun. I got to spend a lot of it with Bruce this year which made it even better. The Darkness were the most amazing live band I think I have ever seen!

I got up on stage and sang this year...and it felt fantastic! I haven't sang for a long time, I guess I lost my passion for it and didn't have the confidence anymore. However, this year the opportunity came up to sing and with some persuasion I did it and I absolutely loved it. I forgot how much I loved getting up and performing and I hope 2017 brings some more opportunities to do more. I was so ill when we were doing the shows, that flipping Queens Cough that has been going around struck me twice! Its made me want to sing again this year to prove I can do it eve better.

Bruce & I visited the beautiful Germany this year, Munich and Berlin. I think I left a piece of my heart in Munich. Its possibly my most favourite place I have visited to date. I loved the buildings, the history, the beer (obvs) and the culture. It was so magical! We stayed in the cutest little hotel in Munich and drank lots and lots of local beers! We even did a beer tour where we got to see a little brewery, it was so cool! We then hopped on the train and travelled to Berlin which was such an interesting and historical city. We did some tours of Berlin and its history and it blew my mind. I so enjoyed our week away and got to spend such amazing quality time with Bruce.

I was also lucky enough to visit the stunning Gran Canaria, now theres a place you must visit too. We booked it very last minute as we all just wanted away to some sunshine. Its so hot and relaxing and I felt like a VIP in our hotel. We met a fantastic couple who made our holiday even more rememberable. It was so nice to sit by a pool all day, drinking Pina Coladas completely guilt free, even Bruce is now wanting another poolside holiday. We played mini golf, partied until the early hours of the morning and made great friends with amazing people. Loved it.

I had two fantastic holidays and got to spend quality time with Bruce and also my Dad which is more than I could have asked for.

I survived another term at University. I started my second year in September. It was very full on compared to first year but here I am waiting to start next term and really looking forward to it! Everything I learnt about this term really interested me and I found myself enjoying several of the essays I was writing. I hope everyone else who is at university, college and school is enjoying the lovely break.

I also got myself a permanent job this year. I now have a job I really love and a job that makes me very proud to be doing. Im feeling very lucky and everyday I go to work I have fun so much fun!

There are so many other things I did during 2016 but I would be here all day if I went into detail about them all, Belladrum, two weddings, many shinty matches and trips away and exciting things happening with my friends and family.

I feel 2016 went past in a flash and I'm very proud of myself for making it a year that I will look back on for happy memories as it could have been the opposite. I am very much looking forward to what I hope will be an exciting 2017.  I am not making resolutions, I don't usually, and this year is going to be a year where I focus on my own health and wellbeing much more and enjoy my little hobbies that I have let go of in the past year or so. I want to continue keeping busy and experience lots of new things whilst keeping up with my university course.

All the best for 2017, go on, make it the year you want it to be.

Christmas Survival Box (Gift Idea) | Blogmas 2016 ♡

This year, instead of an advent calendar, I made Bruce a little run up to Christmas survival box. I picked up 12 of my favourite Christmas films that I have loved over the years and some of his favourite chocolate and festive treats and put them all together in a little gift box.
The films I included in the box were:
Jack Frost
The Holiday
The Polar Express
Nativity
Elf
Home Alone
Home Alone 2
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Mickeys Christmas Carol
Miracle on 34th Street
Jingle All The Way
Christmas Carol

Once I had done the box I thought it looked so cute that I wanted to share it with you guys. If your struggling for a christmas idea for someone why not make up your own little box. You could add PJ's and slippers to make it even more cosy for a christmas night in. You really can put in whatever you like and I feel it would make anyones day.

Let me know some of your favourite Christmas films, these are just some of the ones I love at Christmas and I could list sooooo many more!

Its The Most Wonderful Time...| Blogmas 2016

It certainly is the most wonderful time of the year and I cant believe its here already. How has it come round so fast! Everything about this time of year I love, the weather, the food, the films and tele shows, the shopping and the fact that you have the excuse to spend as much time with the ones you love as you like.

I hope you are all well and enjoying the festivities that are happening. I won't be blogging every day in December but I am going to upload as much as I can, a few posts are ready to go. A wee relaxed version of Blogmas for my little blog.

Hope you enjoy the posts I put up, thank you so much for reading and enjoy the festive season.
